Short History of iPhone
iPhone is a touch-screen smartphone, with functions such as Internet navigation and multimedia content, designed and sold by Apple Inc. and launched in the year of 2007. iPhone also has a photo/video camera, an incorporated iPod Touch and numerous applications for e-mail, Internet navigation and Wi-Fi connectivity. The user's interface is based on the multi-touch screen which includes a virtual QWERTY keyboard. The iPhone apps that the telephone uses are available in the applications store which can be found in the iTunes program.The iTunes Store was launched in the middle of the year 2008 and it currently has over 200,000 applications designed by Apple. The applications have different functions such as games, references (like dictionaries), GPS navigation, social networking and publicity.. Apple announced the launch of iPhone on the 9th of January 2007, after months of rumors and speculations. The device received its name retroactively, being introduced in the USA on the 29th of June 2007 before its release on the European market. Regarding the specifications, the new iPhone had EDGE technology , which determined Times magazine to call it 'The Innovation of 2007'.
On the 11th of July 2008, the fist generation of iPhone 3G was launched. It supports even higher speeds for the 3G transmission, has HSDPA technology with 3,6Mbps speed and has incorporated one of the best GPS antennas. After the launch of the 3G model, in June 2009, the 3.0 operating system has been also released. In the same month, Apple launched the third generation of iPhone, model 3GS, with a better camera resolution and with a video recording function.
The telephone has also a function of recognizing voices and a HSDPA speed of 7,2 Mbps.
In the USA, Canada and six European states it was launched on the 29th of July 2009 and internationally during July and August 2009.
There are a lot of things to be said about iPhone, but the best thing is to have one. The best iPhone now on the market is iPhone 4 which was launched on the 24th of June 2010.
